SC CellPROFILE OF THE CELL
Name of the Incharge : Dr. Hari Om Fuliya, D.R.
The Scheduled Caste Cell was established in the year 1984 with the financial assistance of the University Grants Commission. The main objective of the Cell is to look after the programme/works relating to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes students/employees of this University and its maintained Colleges. It is the duty of the Cell to see that the guidelines issued by the Govt. of India/University Grants Commission/State Govt. in favour of the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes candidates are implemented effectively.
The Cell has been working as nodal agency for supplying of various types of statistical information in respect of the students, teachers and other employees of the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes categories in the University for onward transmission to the Govt. of India/University Grants Commission/State Govt. from time to time after collecting the same from various University Teaching Departments/College/Branches of the University.
The Scheduled Caste Cell remains in constant touch with various agencies of the Govt. in order to appraise the various welfare schemes to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe students of the University.
FACILITIES
It helps the Scheduled Caste Students to get their stipend and other dues from the Govt. The Scheduled Castes Cell distributes jersies/jackets to S.C. students studying in the University Teaching Departments, College of Education and University College, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra every year. Similarly, it gives financial assistance to S.C. students who do not get scholarship/stipend from the Govt.
