  • One day seminar on Role of Young Women in Indian Democracy on the occasion of National Women’s Day in collaboration with Indian National Student Organization (INSO) on 13 Feb. 2024. About 200 female students of the university participated in the seminar.
  • On the occasion of International Women’s Day organized an event on “Economic Empowerment of Women- Step towards Social Harmony” on 10 March 2024 in collaboration with Kurukshetra Seva Nyas. Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor awarded social organizations of Kurukshetra in the event.
  • In collaboration with Women in STEM Forum, KUK organized Science Carnival on 14-15 March 2024. Competitions were organized for students of science in four categories.
  • Organized Self Defense Training for female students of university on 20 March 2024. Director Shri Krishna Institute of Marshal Arts Sh. Rajesh Sharma trained the students.
  • Organized Certificate Distribution-cum-Entrepreneurship Training for trainees of Tailoring and Embroidery Training Centres and Computer Training Centers on Aug. 30, 2024. 70 women and girls participated. Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor distributed certificates and released book on Gender Audit in Academia and Administration: A Case Study of Kurukshetra University, Gender Audit (2022-23).
  • Organized one day workshop on Legal Awareness for Gender Champions and Female Students of University Teaching Departments on Sept. 2, 2024. Ms. Deepshikha was the key speaker.
  • Organized Financial Literacy and Awareness Program (Women’s Financial Empowered Program) on Nov. 20, 2024 in collaboration with Associate-Business Development Advisors Organization. More than 60 female faculty members and Research Scholars of Kurukshetra University attended the programme.
  • Consultancy in collaboration with National Commission for Women, New Delhi organized Regional Law Review Consultation on ‘Cyber Laws affecting Women’ on Nov. 30, 2024. It was one day programme attended by more than 100 participants. Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, KUK Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva presided over the inaugural session.
  • Organized a “One Day Workshop on Nutrition and Health: Women Concerns” on 24th March 2025 as a part of celebrations of International Women’s Day. The theme highlighted the role of life style including nutrition in maintaining physical and mental health especially related to women’s health. The programme was attended by more than 80 female faculty members, research scholars, gender champions and students of different teaching departments of Kurukshetra University.

    Extension Activities

    1. Health Awareness
    • Celebrated Nutrition Month and organized awareness camp on Health and Nutrition among Women at Bahari Mohalla on Sept. 13, 2024. More than 50 women and girls participated.
    1. Swavlamban: Skill Enhancement Programme
      • The Centre has been providing free 6 months training in Tailoring & Embroidery to rural women since 2006 through Tailoring & Embroidery Centre. Till now, 30 centres in villages surrounding Kurukshetra have been successfully completed. Six training centres were run in villages: Ratan Dera, Dayalpur, Kirmich, Barna, Mirzapur colony and Bahari Mohalla. Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra Alumni Association (KUKAA) provided sewing machines and the financial support.
      • The swavlamban programme was further extended to computer training in 2023. The centre is running two “Free Computer Training Centres” for women and youth in New Mirzapur Colony and village Dayalpur. Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra Alumni Association provided necessary computers, accessories and finances for these centres.
