| The Department of Chemistry is actively engaged in diverse and interdisciplinary research areas that contribute to fundamental science as well as modern technological advancements. Faculty members are conducting significant research in Solution Chemistry, Micellization Behaviour, Liquid State Chemistry, Chemical Thermodynamics, Molecular Interactions, and Ultrasonics, focusing on understanding intermolecular forces, surfactant systems, and physicochemical properties of solutions. These studies have applications in pharmaceuticals, materials science, and industrial chemistry. | |
| Another important area of research is Electrochemistry and Energy-related Materials, including work on energy storage devices, energy harvesting materials, and advanced electrochemical systems such as batteries and supercapacitors, supporting sustainable energy technologies. | |
| The department also has strong research activities in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry, including synthetic organic chemistry, heterocyclic chemistry, green and sustainable synthesis, and drug design. Researchers focus on developing biologically active molecules, drug delivery systems, and medicinal bioinorganic compounds. | |
