I  am  glad to welcome you to Kurukshetra University,  Kurukshetra – one of the premier institutes of higher learning and research in the country.

Established in 1956, Kurukshetra University is the oldest and most prestigious University of the State. Taking various stakeholders along,  the University is working on a transformation to  be  a  vibrant  and modern  institution  to  foster  economic and social progress, resting on strong   cultural  foundations  of  the  nation.   New   Education  Policy’s focus   on  autonomy, skill  development,  multidisciplinary  learning,  curriculum   updation,  pedagogy,  stakeholder engagement, etc. is being taken up in  our various strategies and plans to meet the aspirations of young India.

Over the past 65 years, Kurukshetra University has grown in stature and recognition of its commitment to excellence in teaching and research. It has been awarded ‘A++’ grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and placed at 8^th position amongst the State Universities of the country in Category-I by the Ministry of Education and granted academic autonomy. Spread over 473 acres of land with salubrious and lush green gardens, the University has excellent and state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities conducive to higher teaching-learning environment and research. Highly experienced and qualified faculty members, which form the backbone of the University, continuously engage in the maintenance and enhancement of student-centric learning environment through innovative pedagogy.  All the programs offered by the University follow the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) with Learning Outcome Curriculum Framework (LOCF) based approach. The flexibility in the curriculum has been designed with industry-specific goals and skill requirements of the students.

On measure of our reputation is the high quality of research produced in traditional and modern disciplines over the last seven decades of our existence. Kurukshetra University has two National research facilities: Ion Beam Centre and Low Temperature Thermochronology Centre. Five more research centres are coming up in cutting-edge research areas. Six training centres are working in which 3000 students have been trained since October 2019. In sports and cultural achievements, Kurukshetra University is the leading institution in the country.

The University offers a number of facilities to its students which include 13 on-campus hostels for girls and 12 for boys, a central library, air-conditioned reading space for 1300 students, smart class rooms, online web-resources, video conferencing room, language labs, auditoria, health center, shopping complex, banks, post-office and world-class sports and cultural activities facilities.
